Summer is a strong season. It has an impact on everything and it definitely has a say on the type of clothes that we start preferring during this time. However, it is also the season where laid back and cool fashion sense is on demand and the shopping veers towards flowing, comfortable clothes that can help the individual to battle the heat and in some cases the accompanied humidity. However, that doesn’t mean that they cannot do it in style.

Summer can mean a long vacation on some island or on the hills and yet the fashion has to be just right to create the perfect statement. Well, with a little experimentation and reading up on fashion magazines as well as following the fashion in the international arena; you can come up with your distinct style that will make heads turn at your presence.

Summer dictates the fact that you can never have too many clothes on. This is absolutely necessary to understand because the weather is unforgivable and style means that you have to be comfortable in what you wear. A mink coat or a suede jacket can never go out of style but summers are just not the right time for them. They will give you a more eccentric look than fashionable if you think of donning them during the peak summer time.

Flowing drapes and wraps can make you look drop dead chic and keep you cool and comfortable too. The choice of the fabrics should also be according to the climate. Cottons and linens are great choice to maintain a cool look. Georgettes and chiffons are great for evenings out and they also look glamorous without stifling you.

Hairstyles for summer mostly veer towards short and stylish. Updos are great for evenings and they can make you look like a diva with a careless air. They are glamorous and they are also practical as they keep the neck from heating up due to yards of hair on it.

The colours of the season are definitely pastels as nothing says cool like pastels. Citrus colours add funkiness to the wardrobe and the blues and greens can actually add to a person feeling cool and breezy during the scorching months.

Carry accessories like sunglasses and umbrellas to beat the heat with style. Tinted sunglasses are also great to avoid your eyes being affected by the UV rays and it also eases squint lines around the eyes. Umbrellas in bold, cheery colours can add a touch of glamour with the much needed protection from the tanning effects of the sun on your skin.

Hand bags are also a basic accessory and the norm of the season calls for roomy bags to carry your essentials and the aids to beat the heat. Brands like the Roxy handbags are a good bet for the fashionistas who want to look chic and yet keep the practical aspects of the bag intact. They are also available in different colours.
